Social Justice...
…is foundational for vibrant, resilient, and peaceful communities. The most pressing issues facing communities cannot be solved without addressing underlying issues of justice and inequity, which are often deeply rooted and sometimes hiding in the shadows. We know that “injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere” (MLK, Jr.); thus, building a better—that is, more peaceful, thriving, and healthier—world means building better communities, programs, organizations, and systems for all.
“Why is it that countries which we call strong” are so powerful in creating wars but are so weak in bringing peace? Why is it that giving guns is so easy but giving books is so hard? Why is it, why is it that making tanks is so easy, but building schools is so hard?”
